Do You Believe That I Am Able To Do This?”

When Jesus departed, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when Jesus had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”

They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then Jesus touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.” But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country. Matthew 9:27-31.

What Do You Want Me To Do For You?

As Jesus left Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then many warned him to be quiet, but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, Jesus is calling you.” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately, Bartimaeus, received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. Mark 10:46-52.

Do You Want To Be Made Well?

After this, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now, there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralysed, waiting for the moving of the water.

For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now, a certain man was there who had an infirmity of thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed, and walk.” The man was immediately made well, took up his bed, and walked.

And that day was the Sabbath. The Jews, therefore, said to him, who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place.

Afterwards, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” The man departed and told the Jews that Jesus had made him well. John 5:1-15.
