Righteousness.

The Father Is Righteous.

O righteous Father, the world has not known You: but I have known You, and these have known that You have sent Me. John 17 v 25

Jesus Ministered Through Righteousness.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becomes us to fulfil all righteousness Then he suffered him. Matthew 3 v 15

I can of Mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not My own will, but the will of the Father Who has sent Me. John 5 v 30

Righteousness Must Be Sought Out.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5 v 6

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for everyone that exalts himself shall be abased, and he that humbles himself shall be exalted. Luke 18 v 14

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. And when He has come, He will reprove the world of sin, and righteousness, and judgement: Of sin, because they believe not on Me; Of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and you see Me no more; John 16 v 7-10

Righteousness Will Involve Persecution.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5 v 10

For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and you believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and you, when you had seen it, repented not afterwards, that you might believe him. Matthew 21 v 32

Two States Of Righteousness.

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5 v 20

But go you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matthew 9 v 13

Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, Matthew 23 v 28-29

And Jesus said unto them, You are they which justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16 v 15

And Jesus spoke this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Luke 18 v 9

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgement.John 7 v 24

When Jesus heard it, He said unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mark 2 v 17

Righteousness And The Kingdom.

But seek you first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6 v 33

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew 13 v 43

For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them. Matthew 13 v 17

Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungry, and you gave Me meat: I was thirsty. You gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and you took Me in: Naked, and you clothed Me: I was sick, and you visited Me: I was in prison, and you came unto Me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we You hungry and fed You? Or thirsty, and gave You drink? Matthew 25 v 34-37

The Rewards Of Righteousness.

He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. Matthew 10 v 41

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.. Matthew 25 v 46

And you shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense you: for you shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. Luke 14 v 14
