Then Jesus went out again by the sea, and all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them. As Jesus passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi’s house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Jesus eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Mark 2 : 13-17.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Jesus should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus Did Not Come To Condemn But To Save.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Jesus might be saved. He that believes on Jesus is not condemned: but he that does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John 3 :14-21
And if any man hears My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father Who sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak. John 12 :47-50.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After I comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ I did not know Him, but that He should be revealed to Israel; therefore, I came baptizing with water.” And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.” John 1 : 29-34.
And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried, saying, This was He of whom I spake, He that comes after me is preferred before me: for He was before me. And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the Law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man has seen God at any time, but the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 1 : 14-18.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Read More. “Jesus Came To Declare His Father.”
Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; but it fell not: because it was founded upon a rock. But everyone that hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7 : 24 -27.
Believers Must Hear And Do The Word.
“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them; I will show you whom he is like He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6 vs 19-21.
No Awareness Of Eternity.
And Jesus spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room wherein to store my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater, and there I will store all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take then your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
The Importance Of Being Rich Towards The Father.
But God said unto him, you fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided? So is he that lays up treasure for himself, but is not rich toward God. Read More. “Having The Right Priority.”
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be. Luke 12 v 32-34.
Taking No Thought In One’s Life.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on.
Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much better than them? Which of you by taking thought can add one inch unto his height? And why do you take thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns or figs of thistles? Even so, every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is sawn down and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits, you shall know them.
Continuing Doing The Father’s Will.
Not everyone that will say unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name, we have cast out devils? and in Your name, we have done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them,” I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7 vs 15-23.
And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: The same came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. Philip went to tell Andrew and they went to tell Jesus.
Jesus’ Death Produces A Harvest.
Jesus answered them, saying, The hour has come, that the Son of Man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.
Our Life In Christ Shall Be Rewarded.
He that loves his life shall lose it, and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if anyone serves me, My Father will honour them.John 12 vs 20-26.
