Prayer And Humility.

Jesus also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18 v 9-14.

Pray Always And Do Not Lose Heart.

And Jesus told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’ ” And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18 v 1-8.

Pray For The Harvest.

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when Jesus saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad, like sheep having no shepherd. Then Jesus said unto the disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray you, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest. Matthew 9 vs 35-38.

After these things, the Lord appointed another seventy disciples and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, wheresoever He Himself would enter. Therefore Jesus said unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth labourers into His harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. And into whatsoever house you enter, first of all, you are to say Peace be to this house.

And if the son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. Read More. “Pray For The Harvest.”

The Operation Of Faith.

Jesus Ministered By Faith

In the morning, as Jesus returned into the city, He was hungry. And when He saw a fig tree on the way, He came to it, and found no fruit on it, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on you henceforward forever. And presently, the fig tree withered away.

Stay In Faith Do Not Doubt.

And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If you have faith, and doubt not, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say unto this mountain, Be removed, and be cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive. Matthew 21 : 18-22.

Praying In Faith Must Be From The Heart.

Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. Read More. “The Operation Of Faith.”

The Prayer Of Agreement.

The Authority To Bind And Loose.

Moreover, if your brother shall trespass against you, then go and tell him his fault between you and him alone: if he shall hear you, then you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear you, then take with yourself one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglects to hear the church, let him be unto you as a heathen man and a publican.

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father Who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18 vs 15-20.

The Assurance Of Answered Prayer.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.  Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! Matthew 7:7-11

And Jesus said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. The Protocol Of Prayer.

Praying In The Kingdom.

After this manner, therefore, pray you Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in the earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Yours is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6: 9-15.

Now it came to pass, as Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” So Jesus said to them, “When you pray, say: Our  Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done In earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.” Read More. “The Protocol Of Prayer.”

Enter Your Closet.

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Verily I say unto you; They have their reward. But when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not you, therefore, like unto them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, even before you ask Him. Matthew 6 : 5-8.

Do Not Pray Like An Hypocrite.

Matthew 6: 5,7.

.Then Jesus spoke to the multitude, and to His disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: whatsoever they bid you to do observe,  but do not you after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do so as to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders of their garments, And they love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. Pray For Those Who Despitefully Use You.

You have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:  But I say unto you, that you resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also. And whosoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two. Give to him that asks of you and from him that would borrow from you do not turn him away.

You have heard that it has been said, you shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who shall despitefully use you, and persecute you; That you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He makes the sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love them which love you, what reward have you? do not even the publicans the same? Read More. “Pray For Those Who Despitefully Use You.”
